Six boxers have been selected by Team GB to compete for Great Britain in the Summer Olympics in Paris. Extremely heavyweight Pat Brown, middleweight Lewis Richardson, heavyweight Orie, and light-middleweight Lewis Richardson Among them are bantamweight Charley Davison, welterweight Rosie Eccles, and welterweight Chantelle Reid. Richardson, a fighter from Colchester, qualified last out of the group, having only confirmed his spot in Thailand last week. The lone fighter on the team with prior Olympic experience is 30-year-old Davison. Davison switched weight classes for Paris, going from flyweight to bantamweight, after being eliminated in the Tokyo quarterfinals three years prior. “Qualifying for a second time means a little bit more to me,” she stated. “I am a much more experienced boxer now and I know what to expect.”
